An SOS went out on the night the song was recorded with the vocal line – ‘sax man blow that horn.’
It needed a sensational sax. A sexy sax. The band had no sax player.
Kirk the ex-Jimmy James keyboard went on the phone and for £30 Steve Beighton, who went on to play for Paul Carrack and to do sessions with Blue, Atomic Kitten & Lulu amongst countless others, came and he blew away to his heart’s content.
This is the result. He trades amazing licks with guitarist Neil Wingfield.
